Governorship currently under dispute

[edit]

I see that the English page currently says Javier is the governor, while the Spanish page says it´s disputed between Samuel and the newly appointed interim governor. Should this be updated? Samuel García is claiming that he´s able to renounce his leave simply by executive action, and the other guy apparently has not been able to take control of the state government palace. The Supreme Court has ruled that the interim governor is the current governor.Prof. HL Chow FRAS (talk) 18:59, 4 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Land area

[edit]

This article on the Spanish has 64,210 km² for the land area of the state, but this English article has 64,924² for the land area. Do any of y'all know which one of these is correct?   -Benjamin 21:44, 29 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Currently, the intro to the article indicates the total area as 64,555 km², while the info box indicates the total area at 64,156 km². The discrepancies continue.SpikeToronto 17:54, 18 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Population

[edit]

Could somebody source the following statements: "According to Mexican demographers, a great deal of American Indian tribes from the United States (Texas) and a large number of African-Americans evacuated to Nuevo León." And: "There is also a significant number of African-Americans that evacuated to Nuevo León."

Crotalus durissus

[edit]

I believe the link and picture to this pitviper species are not in keeping with current taxonomy, and that the correct species ought to be the Totonacan rattlesnake, Crotalus totonacus, formerly thought to be a subspecies of C. durissus. Why aren't they just called "New Leonese" just like New Yorker or New Zealander?

Why list the Spanish demonyms in the English Wikipedia? I mean isn't there any precedent for it in the English? -- Sion8 (talk) 02:40, 11 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Immigrants into Texas.

[edit]

Tonesalv03 (talk) has recently added the following "To the north, it shares an international border with the U.S. state of Texas, which has a large population of migrants from Nuevo Leon" (addition underlined). Using the editors own sources only 7.9% of Mexican immigrants into Texas come from Nuevo León. Does this really qualify as "large population"? Or has the editor misunderstood the source material? Government history

[edit]

Tonesalv03 (talk) has recently added a section on government history. There are several problems with this, that if remain unresolved will require the deletion of this section - a book reference is supplied, but no page number, nor is it an easily accessible book. I was unable to verify the edit - the description is not consistent with what is posted elsewhere on wikipedia including this article, the Spanish version and History of Nuevo León - the language used in the edit is mystifying. Especially, for example "Before then it was disgruntled due to many aspects" Jameel the Saluki (talk) 05:18, 15 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
